Publishing Setup

We work with Lulu to make your book available to print on demand.  You send us your completed manuscript and we will format it to the proper book size, add a title page, copyright page, and a table of contents (if applicable.)  We will combine all of your book and put it into a pdf (Adobe Acrobat) file.  We'll then send it back to you so you can upload your work yourself.

If you want us to upload it along with a book cover, we can add it under our account.  You will tell us what you want to sell your book for and Lulu will calculate your commission.  Because the book will be under our account, we will send you your commission at the end of each month via PayPal.  This is actually faster than what Lulu pays us (June's commission would come at the end of July etc.)  If for some reason a sale is removed on account of a returned book, fraudulent purchase, etc. we will notify you and deduct it from the next month's commission.

If we set up your book on our account, we will automatically list it in our book section.  You will not need to submit it at a later time. 

You can provide your own book cover or we can create one for you.  If we set up your book we will need you to provide a cover or pay for one.  Read more about book covers.

Formatting

A standard book is 6 x 9 inches.  This is what we will format all books to unless a special request is made for another available size.  Typically a page this size has 250-300 words on it. 

A book submitted for formatting should already be thoroughly proofread and edited.  Formatting will set your book up to the proper size and will include page numbering in the header or footer along with the book title and/or chapter title if preferred.

After conversion of the text into the proper size a title page, copyright page, and contents page will be added.  The author holds all copyrights and will be noted as such.  Glorified Publishers will be listed as the publisher on the copyright page.

If uploading has not been selected we will send a formatted pdf file to you so that you can upload the file yourself.

Uploading

When a document is submitted for uploading, it is uploaded as is.  We will not check for proofreading or formatting errors.  We suggest you thoroughly review your book before sending (or sending back) your manuscript for uploading to make sure it is exactly what you want it to look like.

When we upload your manuscript we will also need a book cover to upload.  This can either be sent to us or purchased.  Your manuscript and cover will be uploaded to our account and set up there.

Once set up, your book will automatically be added to our book list without the need to submit any more forms.

When your book is submitted under our account you will receive your commissions at the end of each month instead of waiting until the end of the next month to receive them from Lulu.

ISBN's

You can purchase an ISBN for your book so that you can sell your books in local bookstores and will be listed in the Books in Print catalog.  A scannable ISBN will be printed on your back cover.

This can be purchased only with uploading.  If you wish to upload your own files we can't help with ISBN's.  When working with Lulu it is a fairly simple and they have several help files to guide you if you choose to do so on your own.
