Formatting
Formatting is the
finishing touch to your book. It takes a well
edited document and puts it in book form so that it can
be uploaded in the required format. The standard
formatting size is 6 x 9 but there are other formats
available. If you desire another size, please
request it at sign up.
In addition to putting
your document in the proper format, we will make sure
that charts and graphs fit all on the same page.
We will compile a title page, copyright page, and a
table of contents (if desired).
We will also include
page numbering, which can be placed at the top or bottom
of the page.
When submitted, your
document should already be edited for style as we will
not do any editing of that sort. See
proofreading for more on
style editing.
Here's an example of
what you document might look like when it is submitted
for formatting. This is at the top of a
hypothetical page 10. The right side was cropped
because the size was set for a normal 8.5 x 11 inch
page.

Here is the same
document edited for size and with page numbering at the
top.

In this case, left
hand pages contain the book title while right hand pages
have the chapter name. Here's a right hand page
with slightly different formatting.

Another option is to
have the page numbers at the bottom of the page.

Depending on your
format preference and how long you want the book to be,
spacing between paragraphs can also be adjusted.
This makes reading easier for some. This can add
5-15% onto the length of your book.

One final thing to
note is whether you want chapters to start on the left
hand page. Some books will only begin a chapter on
the right page and place a numbered blank page before.

You can request to
have your book formatted anyway you like or you can
leave it up to how we think looks best. We
recommend looking at some of the books on your shelf and
deciding what you like best.
Our apologies,
we are not accepting books at this time.
